Who this treatment is for
Tinting suits anyone with light or greying brow/lash hair, clients who wear glasses (where mascara becomes impractical), and anyone who wants to wake up "done".
- Clients with naturally light or greying brow and lash hair — tinting restores definition.
- Glasses wearers — where mascara becomes impractical and prone to smudging on the lenses.
- Pre-holiday or pre-event prep — wake up looking done, no makeup needed.
- Sporty or busy clients who do not have time for daily eye makeup.
- New mothers — minimal effort, maximal result.
- Anyone wanting a fuller-looking brow without committing to microblading.
Why we recommend the Eyelash Tint
We recommend the Eyelash Tint because it is precise brow and lash tinting using professional vegetable-based tints, custom-mixed to your hair colour. The treatment is brief but the result is meaningful — and it is one of the few small treatments where technique genuinely makes a difference.
We mix the tint to your taste, not a one-size-fits-all "dark brown". You can start subtle and go darker on the next visit. The patch test 48 hours before your first appointment is non-negotiable for our insurance and your safety.
How the Eyelash Tint works
Tinting deposits colour onto each individual hair shaft using a peroxide-developer pairing. The colour bonds to the keratin in the hair and gradually fades as the hair sheds naturally over the following weeks.
Because the tint sits on the hair (not in the skin), it is safe even for clients who otherwise react to skin products. a finished, awake-looking finish that lasts 3-5 weeks with no daily makeup needed.
The treatment protocol
A Eyelash Tint session moves quickly:
- Patch test — required 48 hours before your first appointment with us, even if you have been tinted elsewhere. Skin chemistry is individual.
- Skin barrier — petroleum jelly applied to the skin around the brow/lash to prevent staining.
- Custom mix — tint mixed to your hair colour and preferred intensity.
- Application — applied with a precision brush, allowed to develop for 4-8 minutes.
- Removal — wiped off cleanly with damp cotton; for lashes we use closed-eye pads.
- Review — we check the result with you and apply a final brush of brow gel to finish.
In the room: what you'll experience
The treatment is relaxing and odour-free with modern tints. Mild tingling during development is normal; pain is not — speak up immediately if you feel discomfort. The full appointment is under 30 minutes.
We tint a touch darker than your final intended shade because the first 24 hours fade slightly as the colour settles into the hair shaft. Your therapist will explain this and show you the result in a hand mirror.
Results timeline
Tint lasts:
- Brows — 3-5 weeks (depending on how often you exfoliate or use acids near the eye).
- Lashes — 4-6 weeks (longer because lashes shed slowly).
- First 24 hours — slight fade as the tint settles in.
- Across consecutive sessions — many clients build up to a slightly darker shade over time as their preference shifts.
Aftercare
Aftercare is minimal but worth following:
- No water, steam, sauna or hot showers on the brow/lash area for 12 hours after the treatment.
- No oil-based cleansers or makeup removers on the area — they strip the tint quickly.
- No retinoids, AHAs/BHAs or vitamin C in the brow zone for 24 hours — they accelerate fading.
- Use SPF on the brows — sun lightens the tint just like it lightens hair.
Safety, contraindications and patch testing
We will not tint if you have any allergy to PPD (paraphenylenediamine) or have had an adverse reaction to hair dye in the past. Active eye infections, recent eye surgery and contact lens irritation also exclude treatment until resolved. Pregnancy is fine. A patch test 48 hours before your first appointment is non-negotiable.
A complimentary patch test is required at least 24 hours before this treatment. If you have not had one with us, book the patch test slot first.
